The 4th Anniversary of the Day that Our Lives Changed

Four years ago (or just yesterday depending on how you look at things) our sweet baby girl made her (very, very slow) entrance into our world.  Not a day has been the same since.  Can one really imagine that we used to wake up without this beautiful smile greeting us?  Unfathomable.

Amelia has been looking forward to her birthday since her last one.  No getting around letting this one go quietly.  Nope.  Not gonna happen.

Being that her actual birthday was during the week, we had a little family time.  Mila had requested french toast, however the idea of having that and a special dessert was too much for the adults in her life.  Gramma convinced her that pizza would be better, so it was homemade pizza all around.

Once again, Amelia delighted in being the center of such importance.

This probably came in asking her what she thought she might get . . . . . ?

Finally, Gramma could not contain herself anymore.  Mila was eating too slowly, so her plate was removed and a (very) large bag from Gramma and Grampa was placed before her.  Suddenly, Mila forgot she'd been eating.
Gramma had picked out some new clothes, and has been giddy about giving them!  Mila was fine with that.
While G&G were in Arizona, they came across this 'Just-like-Daddy' outfit, so home it came.  Wait until you see the aviators!
Grandma Mini sent her a family of these little dolls, and they have been a great hit.  (Hey Mila, hold them up so I can get a picture . . . .; Well, that works too, I guess).  Also given was the most lovely piece of fabric, which is large and feels lovely.  It is meant to be 'anything you want', like a cape, or Rapunzel hair.  You otta see see what it's been!
Grampa Stever and Gramma Lulu sent her a chipmunk stuffed toy, which has been quite lovely for cuddling.  The true hit, though?  Their dang card.  She LOVES the cards she gets, 'reads' what they say, and we continue the process over the next couple of weeks.
Then, the piece de resistance.  Mommy and Daddy's (Daddy's) gifty.
She opened her eyes, then put her hands back on.  Then she kept rubbing them, such as in disbelief.  Then, opened them, closed them, and rubbed again.  What could it be . . . . . . ?
A bike!  Just like Daddy's!
She then did laps around, and around, around the house (there was no safe place for our little puppy).  Funny, whenever we are in the store she can't get more than a few feet before she runs into something, or hits the breaks.  Suddenly, she was good!  Really good, actually.

Daddy is so jealous over the aviators.  Pretty cute, eh?
Then for a yummy birthday treat, it was 'mana split sundaes'.  Birthday girl had never had them before, but has decided they are pretty good and she'd like them again.
The next few mornings, she rode up and down our hallway (it's about eight feet long, mind you).  She was so excited.
We finally convinced Grampa to back out his truck so we could use the garage.  Mila has learned circles.  Daddy was doing something else in the garage, and Mila came over had said "Daddy!  Look at my new trick!"  She'd actually been doing these circles without hands.
Rockstar.  Daddy's heart grew just a little more.

This is Brittany, her new chipmunk buddy.  The pink dress she came in was too cold, so I found her dressed a little more warmly one morning.

Happy Fourth Birthday to our baby girl.
