Dino-Matic!

Might I remind you that Amelia was not about to be jipped out of yet another year lacking a birthday party.  That meant that Mom and Dad actually had to plan.  This is not one of our better traits.

Amelia had some very specific requests - a dinosaur party, with a T-Rex strawberry cake.

So, picture Daddy the night before filling dinosaur eggs with plaster of paris.  This is the stuff of his dreams.
Amelia invited her two best-est-ess friends in the whole world, Torrin and Kami (their pods were also invited to attend).
The day began decorating their official dinosaur buckets with mean looking stickers of stegosaurus, t-rex, brontosaurus, and such.
Then it was off on an official dinosaur dig.  It was their task to look for dinosaurs and their eggs.  It was hard work, but their sweat paid off.
The only problem was was that the eggs were so old, they had to be broke open with a rock hammer to see what was still inside.
A wise idea to give such young paleontologists a rock pic?  No, but let's remember who Amelia's parents are.
Mila was so excited, and gave such gusto in her hammering I thought we might be taking a trip to the ER to remove the hammer from her forehead.
But, she done good.
Kami did not seem to have quite the anger issues, so her eggs took a little more convincing.

All of Daddy's late night preparations paid off.  They loved this!
Amelia, however, had to be excused during the middle as she was so upset she couldn't 'help' (insert: take over and do it all herself) the others.  The others kept messing up her dirt piles, as well.  Turns out you shouldn't wake up so early on your special day 'cause then you don't have enough good disposition to endure.
Next was dinosaur tag.
The original plan was for them to stay connected, and the first person had to grab the tail of the last person.
Mayhem soon broke out, and . . . . . .

Then it was just get the tail.

After all that their energy was gone (really, as if that could ever really happen!) it was time for a little feasting.  Gramma salmon dip, cheese/crackers, crudite, dinosaur blood punch, strawberries, all super yumminess.
Complete with dueling t-rex's, as a lonely brachiosaurus meandered on by.  (Mom and Dad really wanted to use frosting to decorate it, but neither of us could bring ourselves to actually do it.  Bad Mom/Dad).

Amelia was okay with the whole thing.
Her two besties, favorite foods, strawberry cake, dinosaurs (esp. t-rex), violent hammering, and playing with dirt = a good day.
