I was darned determined to post at least once more in April, but I guess that just went down the tubes!
So, here it is, May! It is finally warming up around here and it is delightful. We've been outside - often. Luckily for Mom, it warmed up fast enough that the mud puddles only lasted a week. But not to worry, Mila made sure she visited each and every one before their time was up. They actually got so bad in our driveway we had one doosey deep enough that was within an inch from the top of her boot. Didn't matter, insides still got wet. I'm still trying to figure out how you can send a little girl out, and literally ten minutes later she comes back sopping wet, and mud on her toes (even though she had on boots!!!). And a smile - every time.
Here was an almost moment. She was snuggling with the dog, he was kind of happy. I got the camera, and then suddenly she was a dog, too. Stinker.
I came out one morning to this lovely 'potted' flower. A lovely pin-wheel flower, stuffed in animal cookies, inside of a toilet paper roll. What can one really say . . . . ?
I thought we were just going to roll out play dough, make a couple of shapes and be done with it all.
But this tower just made her so happy, and she was so pleased with herself. She was enormously upset with me when I moved it to make room for dinner.
- Hey schnookie-pie, whatcha doing?
- Trying to make fire.
(This is one of those moments where I wonder where she's learning stuff. I should know, right? Anyway, she was whacking two stones together trying to start a fire.)
We finally got to drag out all of her summer toys.
Soooo happy! She spread each and every one out across Gramma's yard. Ask how excited Gramma was? Dad surprised her and set up her trampoline. It put her over the top in giddy. She won't come inside anymore. A bad thing . . ?
She's been helping Gramma plant seeds. And possibly transplant? It means lots of Gramma time, with dirt. Still more combinations that make her oh-so-happy.
