In an effort to appreciated the outdoors in the frigid north, the Lafleur's decided to take the young child to the North Pole Ice Championships. The Lafleur's, being the wise and cheap people that they are, choose a day that was free! However, not being entirely lucky, it was also -15.
It was awesome! It amazes me every time I see these sculptures that somebody is crazy enough to stand outside with a chainsaw for hours making these amazing creations. And fuel trucks . . . ?
I think that Amelia was so excited to be sliding again! She started to complain that her toes hurt, but we couldn't get her to leaver. Here is a hint to those who have not grasped the entirety of the situation. -15, outside, playing on ice. It gets cold!
They also had really, really long slides that required a sled. It got going much faster than I expected, and I may have let out some annoyingly freakish squeals. But in a race between Daddy/Mila vs. Mommy, Mommy kicked butt! Until Daddy/Mila ran her over.
Here are a couple of clips we took. I know, the last one is not right, but it as so funny! She kept saying her toes hurt, but wouldn't leave.
(a video will go here. when i figure out the crap i'm doing!)
On the way home (which was less than five minutes, by the by) her toes thawed. So far from a happy camper.
