The only water that can cripple Alaska!

We knew that it was too good to be true to recieve so much perfect snow. It was beautiful coming down (a rarity in the Interior), and lay in perfect blankets of satin goodness. Therefore, we couldn't keep it.

It rained. In December, after a lot of snowfall. Only rain could cripple Alaska. It had been raining all night, but didn't become deadly until about seven in the morning. Which of course is after much of the city was enroute. School buses kept sliding and blocking intersections. Fire trucks couldn't get to them because they kept sliding off the road. Finally around ten in the morning, everything shut down. Public schools, the University, everybody. Very few went to work, and we all stayed home and played!

We built our very first snowman! Sadly Amelia won't realize the importance.

She had a good time!

Here is JR trying to move fallen branches from my car.  They all got completely coated in ice, and then just started falling.

Amelia was just so excited to stampede through the ice!

I just thought this was super pretty.  Until Amelia stomped on it.
