Too slippy!

JR's work decided to rent out an ice rink for a little Christmas jollies, and we were on it. Mom had some issues getting there, as a friendly gentleman pulled her over for reckless driving. Really? I have done my fair share (and maybe somebody else's fair share, as well) of crazy driving. This was not one of these occasions. He pulled me over for passing cars like I was in a hurry and going 65 mph. On the freeway. Again, 65 mph. I was preferring to stay in the right hand lane, and passed a guy who was going 40. I believe the friendly gentleman saw the error of his ways as he 'let me off with a warning'. I'd like to mention that this was probably the first time that I actually had a valid license, was wearing a seatbelt, and all my proper credentials. See, following the rules does me no good.
But, I digress.
This is the first time that Amelia has been on skates, and at least 15 years for Mom and Dad. Mila put the skates on, and got pretty good walking on terra non-slippy making a bee line for the snacky table. Then, the ice came.  Mila felt pretty confident with Dad holding her, and lifted her legs so she didn't have to skate.

She quite preferred the penalty box to the ice.  She could watch everybody else having super fun, and just be left out!
In the end, she declared that she did not like skating because it was slippy.  In actually, it took the whole time for her to gain confidence, and she started to do really well.  But the skates were torture!  It actually took the whole family out of the game.  We're weenies, I know.
But, fear not, this was not Torrin's first time around the ring, and he came prepared.  He was a rock star!
