Mila is one of Grandpa Lafleur's greatest fans. #1-she loves his hairy self. #2-Grandpa loves to show off his pictures. We go over for a little visit, and she goes racing over to look at is 'come-poo-tur'. Together, they will literally 'oohhh' and 'awe' over his pics. Mila gets to be nosey, and Grandpa get a self-esteem booster. The world is a better place.
This is a semi-tribute to J.R.'s unmatching Grandpa. His grandpa, Keith, has several 'quirks' that every time I see an example of them, I think of him and laugh/roll my eyes/cringe, etc.
Grandpa Lafleur L.O.V.E.'s ketchup; a man after my own heart. While most people will salt their food, he will ketchup it. I've seen 'variety' ketchup sold (purple in color, fire-roasted, etc) and my first thought is of him.
Another, and much for prevalent, is his penchant for wearing bad plaid. A lovely plaid shirt, and then jammy bottoms of an entirely different plaid. I tried to talk him out of it on several occasions, but have gotten absolutely nowhere. I thought it would end there, but the bad plaid gene has been known to pop up with his son, Grandpa Snappy Lafleur (which is better than the Joey Butafuco outfit (think muscle workout outfit)). The donning of these outfits will always be accompanied with mockery.
Luckily, J.R. has me to keep him in line, so the bad plaid seemingly has spared him.
Then there was a mutation with the daughter.
She loves stripes. She even had striped socks on. This has been an ongoing battle, of which I usually control. This day, however, Daddy let her get dressed. This stripe fetish is strong. Every time I see these various stripy concoctions, I think of G.Grandpa Lafleur, and curse him a little!
Thanks to the iPhone, the clarity is not great. I asked Amelia for help putting our brownies in the oven, and she immediately ran to get her accoutrements.
This was, of course, after she had helped sampling and looked like the joker; a chocolate smile from ear to ear!
As usual, my phone had disappeared. When I (finally!) located it, I found that this picture had been taken, and was all set up to be emailed. So, here is Amelia's first email to Daddy.
Then I asked for a cute face shot to send with it. She is such a stink.
