Goodbye to a Rockin' Good Time

When we first moved into our house, J.R. would not allow our couch through the door.  I had had some sentimental attachments to it, and all of it was lost on my husband.  He quickly found two couches/loveseats; they reclined, they rocked, and they were turquoise.  I've hated them, passionately, the entire time.  Even sadder, they really matched our house well.  Apparently we like turquoise.

Even though they were incredibly ugly, they were super comfy.  They also doubled as recreation for Amelia who could rock back and forth, then launch herself.  Shouldn't that always be included as a requirement for furniture?  However, they've been through some use, especially after this past summer and J.R.'s recovery time.  They bit the dust.  Suddenly.

We needed a new couch.  I had a vision, and I waited.  Praise be to Craigslist!

We gave away our old couches, which left us with one piece of furniture.
Mila was okay with the new arrangement.
My kitchen was a sad, sad place for a wee bit.
Mila was immediately comfortable, especially after all the hard work of watching Mom and Dad.
Mommy likes the new arrangement!  Notice the neutral tone?  Not really, and that is great!  We can also all sit together, with room to spare.
Mila gets more playing room, and Daddy can luxuriously stretch out on the floor.

Daddy got a wall to hang his works of art, something he's been yippin' about for quite a while.
The end result is happiness.  It has been a good change.  People can now come over and have a place to sit.
Guess we need to find some people to have over, eh?
