Is it surprising to anybody that Mila's hair does not hold a curl? At all? Whose child is this? I continue to ask . . . . .
After having her hair in braids all day, I took it out and brushed it's poofy delightfulness. I asked her who she looked like (Mom! was that not the obvious answer?) and she said 'Kami's mom'. I passed these comments along to Jamie, and she had mixed reviews. First, when she oped the picture up Kami said 'Hey! that's Mila's mom' (yes! correct answer!). I think Jamie was a little put out, admitting that she must need a haircut.
While we were baking one day, Mila fell off her official baking stool. First, she was mad stating 'you were supposed to catch me!', and then barked out a list of demands. As it was her ankle that was injured, she hopped over to the couch (with much grunting), and then asked me to go get the long pillow to make her ankle feel better. After a little rest, she seemed to be much better. I'd say it was due to the long pillow, but Daddy is still in recovery.
This one is going in my collection of "Hello new boyfriend, have you seen Mila's baby pictures?"
Mila seems to be finally showing a real interest in drawing/coloring. This particular day she was using the picture of a polar bear as a reference to draw her own (she'd been doing a shark earlier).
She keeps asking for my help, to show her how to do it. I have no skills. JR still laughs at my unrealistic stick figures. I 'showed' her how to do the ears, and for some reason a bear sprouted. I really took this picture so that you could see the polar bear in the corner that I drew. Me! It actually looked like a bear, and I was dang pleased with myself! Can I hear a toot-toot?
And here is where my opposite of a toot-toot comes in. While carving pumpkins, I'd made pumpkin muffins with an oatmeal strudel (dang good, have I mentioned that?) Somehow, I ended up with an inordinate amount of left over strudel. Thinking I was clever, I made a whole what bread, and then rolled up the strudel in it. It was good . . . . . . , but something did not entirely work out.
