You know, I love Thanksgiving. It is a day meant to be spent with family and/or loved ones. There are no presents involved. It is a time to reflect on the blessings in one's life.
We are very blessed. J.R. is in pursuit of something that he is very excited about (just don't ask what that is, specifically!). He has a job that he really likes, and really likes the people he works with. We have a beautiful, witty daughter, and I get to be home with her! Our home is a sanctuary and we love being in it (probably above all else; not always a good thing!). See, we've been blessed!
It was kind of a big turn out! All of the cousins were in town, and that has not happened since . . . , well, never. Pam was so excited, she insisted on a 'cousin portrait'. J.R. was hoping they wouldn't all show, and no portrait. Nope, there is now a picture to prove attendance!
We walked in to door to Gramma and Grampa's, and that is the last that I saw my beloved daughter. She demanded to sit next to cousin Jesse, of whom she convinced that both ketchup and mustard were required over her turkey and mashed potatoes. I didn't get a picture in time, but it was foul-looking.
l-r: Uncle Eddie, cousin Andy, Scott (who will be the newest addition to the family in July!!) with cousin Crystal. Yeah for them! And us. Good score all around.
friendy Colby, J.R., Gramma,
cousin ryan (and behind him, Jordan and cousin Jesse)
Here is a better view of Jordan. Taken after both Amelia and my phone disappeared. Methinks he is trying to butter-up to the family by playing 'kitchen' with the three year old. Worked on me!
It was a great day. It was fabulous to need an extra table in the dining room, and the Alaskan Family would have been complete had Auntie Kim and Uncle Bobby not been somewhere else warm. Traitors.
