This has been a big year for Amelia. She is finally figuring out what holidays are. She still talks about Halloween; maybe we could dress up again? Go get some more candy?
She was pretty stoked about Thanksgiving.
We are now learning about Christmas. As a hard and fast rule, Christmas is not allowed to celebrated in any fashion until the day after Thanksgiving. I 'informed' JR that he needed to pull out the tree the directly after Black Friday shopping. We had to let it thaw a little (remember the wicked cold?), but that did not stop Amelia from rifling. We grabbed the Christmas music and DVD's; JR saw the progress and spent the day in a crabby mood. He was banished to the office.
The pixie kept 'finding' stuff, pulling it out and exclaiming "Hey! I was looking for this". Can she really remember all the festive trinkets . . . . . . .
She was pleased with her antlers and eggnog.
Then her tree came out. She did a fabulous job decorating it, but it seemed to be focus on one side. It fell over pretty quickly.
So the next day, she decorated it again. This time she used the contents from her jewelry box. It was very pretty.
Booda has remembered how much he likes the tree. It's like his own personal thicket of protection before he pounces. I also have had the chance to remember that I wasn't going to use tinsel again. Been finding pools of tinsel-laden vomit.
Here is Amelia's view of her tree
and her other tree, after playing with a new app she'd chosen.
Now I just need to pop in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation to get crabby daddy in the mood!
Merry Christmas!
