Dream Big - Read!

Yeah for summer!  It means that the summer reading program at the library begins.  We really look forward to it every year, and our library does a very good job.  The week before the activities began, we went and got her all signed up.  She wrote her own name (kinda) on a star to go on the wall.  She also got her booklet/passport in which she records the books she read throughout the week, and then receives a stamp.  She was so excited that she came home and 'wrote' the names of several books and granted herself some stamps.  Gosh, she sure makes me smile.

The first activity was a petting zoo.  It's been one of her favorites in the past, and really how could you go wrong?  This year, though, she was only mildly interested.  She just wanted to hang out with other kids.  And play with small babies.  Methinks she's practicing for her upcoming role.  I had several strangers tell me what a great sister she is going to be (I must be looking pregnant, or something?).

She did nuzzle in with a few guinea pigs.
Then found a field of her favoritest flower.
Yes, her favorite flower is a dandelion.  She keeps trying to convince Gramma to plant a few.  It's not going well, as of yet.
She loved that the pony loved the dandelions.  Until he turned and went after her bouquet.  Then she was up-set!  I mean, how dare he?
After she mellowed, she tried to feed another bouquet to some ducklings.  She was so bummed.  Finally she was willing to share, and these ungrateful ducklings wanted nothing to do with her offering.

Okay, not quite an animal in the local 4-H.  But it was the only animal that she was allowed to ride!
