Museum Without Walls

This humble little town has been working for several years to bring culture to our wee ones.  A group has been working fervently to raise funds for a children's museum.  In the meantime, they hold small fundraisers every once in a while, and have called it 'Museum Without Walls'.  I've heard great things about it, but have never actually ventured to one.  How lucky for me that they finally came and plopped themselves in our laps?

For one of the library activities, they brought several activities that Amelia just couldn't decide between.  So many choices!

She began with what she knows best; a dinosaur dig.  She wasn't here that long, however, as it is something that she was already a pro at.  The only difference was that this time the dinosaurs were covered in grass seed.  How clever is that?!
Then she tried out the parachute.  I don't think that the kids really knew what do with it.  Was it a cool piece of fabric?  A blanket toss?
I told Amelia to get under it ('cause isn't the coolest part, being 'domed' in?).  Rookies.  She was still all smiles, however.
I don't know why anybody would really put expense towards cool exhibits, when really all one needs is water.  Buckets, ladles, ping-pong balls, and rain gutters.  Best. Activity. Ever.
Not really sure what this was, but it wasn't a bad thing (clearly).
Amelia almost had a conniption when she realized that this mass amount of blue liquid was just for making bubbles.  Yipee!

Oddly enough, this was the activity that she spent - by far - the most time with.  They were magnetized squares.  Who knew?  The little girl in red is a cutie that she met while in her swimming class.  They became little buddies while bonding over their mutual name, Amelia.  'Hi, Amelia!'  'Oh, hi Amelia!'

Looming?  Weaving?
I'd like to ask the general public: How does one hula-hoop, and injure their eye?  Only the little pixie could figure that one out.

Of course, if she had a good example she would learn.  Maybe somebody with a waist should be teaching her . . . . . .
Then back to the water.
This would be colored shaving cream, sponges, and squeegees.

See how happy it makes her to be messy?

For this last activity, I think she showed up too late.  I believe it was colored water that was sprayed on to paper.  But by the time she arrived, everything was pretty much depleted.  As you can see, she was really put out by the inconvenience.

The Museum Without Walls made for a very lovely experience.  It would be fabulous to participate in a  museum with walls.  Someday . . . . .
