While we were totally stoked about being in San Francisco with Scott, we really could not have come at a worse time. Scott had previously been taking quite a bit of time off (bachelor party!) and really could not spare taking more off. In addition, he was trying to work ahead so that he could take off the rest of the week for his wedding. He offered their car to us, but the idea scare me to death (again, I've been living in isolation too long). I learned that San Francisco is very proud that they can offer public transportation five minutes from anywhere you are. Amelia is always keen for a ride on a bus, so I thought it'd be a nice little adventure. We stopped at the little corner store for some lunch-like provisions, and we were off in search of good times.
Rumor (ie, the internet) had suggested Koret Children's Quarter in Golden Gate Park. Wow. As we'd arrived by bus, we wandered through the park in search of the play ground. It was a spectacular day, and just lovely to see so much green grass (snow had firmly established itself back home).
Amelia could not get over herself, and we spent several hours here. These little thingamabobbies spun off centered, and made for some great moments of near vomit.
Then these great concrete slides.
If I remember correctly, this thingy was 50 feet high. Amelia had no problem clambering her way up.
Down, however, did seem to put a hiccup in her plans.
Then the beautiful day disappeared rather quickly, and we had to scramble to find the appropriate bus, during mad rush hour. What a great day.
