After we arrived in San Francisco after our red eye, we were a little knackered. We felt a little better after our afternoon nappy.
With the best of intentions, we were going to do a couple of things before we headed to the airport. But then came a comfy bed we couldn't get out of, playing with the dogs, a stop off at the local bakery, etc. Suddenly, we were real late.
So, we went to check out the beach that is two blocks from S&S's.
Celisse got her first whiff of fresh salt air, right off the ocean.
I believe the moment was lost on her.
However, make sure you check out the background! Misty loveliness.
Hey Mila, let's take a nice girly picture . . . .
Sure, Mommy, I always love to be obedient!
I felt like I was looking at a little bit of tundra from back home. Except the sand. And warmth (ish). And lack of bugs.
I wanted to make sure that Amelia got a chance to see the all-famous Golden Gate Bridge. She loves pointing stuff out (like from books, or TV) that she recognizes. I thought it'd make her feel cool. Here they are 'being' the bridge.
So, we raced to the airport. What I mean is that Scott zigged and zagged, and tried to kill us so that we could fit in just a couple more sights despite the fact that we were totally late.
We arrived in a flurry of hurry, only to be told that the flight was delayed by two hours. Oh jeez. So Scott ran back to get his sunglasses from the car, and we waited in these lovely little seats.
I'd like to take this moment to interpose. This day was Halloween. At first I was stoked that Amelia would actually get the chance to be somewhere for it, but it just so happened that she got royally screwed, instead. Our flight left too early to trick or treat in San Francisco, and too late for Dallas. I tried to dress the girls up a little, hence the reason you see tutu-breath and her little sister pumpkin-buns. Amelia did not feel totally put out, though, as every counter seemed to have a bucket full of candy to offer her. She caught on real quick-like.
We finally made the flight, though, after much dilly-dallying. We were just grabbing some food when the airline changed their mind and wanted to board. Now. We were the last on.
Mila head banging (literally) to 'Phantom of the Opera'. I think she's missing some concepts.
A nice self-portrait.
Gramma Mini's flight arrived just before ours, and Amelia could hardly contain herself when she saw her! Gramma bent down to hug her, and Amelia knocked her down with hugs and kisses. Then offered to take her luggage.
Look what awaited me on our luggage! It was very true, but still rather demeaning.
