RandoMilias

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home! Glad as I can be . . . .
I put my arms around his neck, hug him tight like this . . .
(yes, there is music attached to this 'poem' that you think that I cleverly made up!)

I'd like to pretend that we did something amazing for Memorial Day weekend.  We did not; it was hot, and lets face it, we hate people.  So we hid in our nice cool house.  We did decide to have dinner with the folks, but even that was tricky.  They were having BBQ pork ribs, and upon hearing that I felt a little vomit rise.  For me, I really avoid pork, but I really, really hate ribs.  I detest performing surgery just to get to the meat (bones in meat, at all) but then add a lot of bone with a little meat and I am long gone.  And the mess, argh!  Ask my opinion on chicken wings . . . . . . !  Long story short (ha ha!), we had our (kosher) hot dogs and potato salad as they ate their carnage.

However, Mila is just not one to turn down any food.  She was delighted!  She was really a trooper about it, and Sitka declared it his favorite bone (there was a lot of goodness left!).  The part that actually tugs at my heartstrings a little was watching her try to eat.  Due to her little comforting thumb sucking issue, her front teeth are NOWHERE near contact.  She had to try to eat with the side of her mouth.  So, we sat and made fun of her deformities, hoping that the humiliation would be so much she would stop sucking her thumb immediately.
I'll let you guess what actually transpired.

Ahhh, the beginning of the summer reading program at the library.  Ahhh, being old enough to actually participate.  The opening entertainment? Ye Ole 4H Petting Zoo.  Mila was so excited (as she announced to everyone she came into contact with).
We seem to keep running into this little pony, which pleases Amelia.  Today, I reminded her that horses say 'hello' by breathing (nose to nose?).  This kept exciting the pony and he kept giving her kisses (molesting her with his upper lip), and this made Mila's day.  He was quite perky with her (and it made the older kids super jealous)!
Mila became so knowledgeable on pet care, that she began directing their handlers.  It's a good thing that she can be charming enough to get away with it!

When I asked her who her favorite animal was, she said the goat, and the chicken, and the guinea pig, and the pony because they all loved her soooooooo much.

My wish is to go back to her age where, I too, could be under such perceived constant adoration.
