J.R. and I are constantly 'in discussion' as to where Amelia gets her strong personality and/or determination. As steadfast as she is, they do not come from me!
Take for instance a walk that Amelia and I took the other day. We kept going, and going, and going. I was bored, and started yanking on some trees that had been broken in anyone of our numerous storms this year. Mila came running up, yelling in glee about sticks. She grabbed the largest piece of carnage, and walked on. She'd put it over her shoulder, and the weight would throw her backwards. But she was determined that this 'stick' was comin' home.
She kept exclaiming how heavy it was, so then she'd drag it.
There would be moments of rest, and then she'd try to convince me to carry it for her.
Oh, no - I had no desire.
So off she went. I put my foot down when she tried to take her spoils in the house to show her daddy. I was finally able to convince her to implant it into a snow berm where both she and her daddy could gaze up it's splendor through the window.
I'm actually pretty self conscious of this. While I think she is pretty darn cute, this is my general ensemble. I almost feel obligated to obtain matching Mommy-daughter outfits, with frills.
She gets quite a few comments about this general look (I do not, by the way) and she feels pretty special.
She's absolutely adorable, and the ensemble totally reminds me of you! Thanks for posting again as it makes the Lafleur's on the other side of the US feel connected. ~Nicole
