Big B, little b.

I mentioned that Amelia was involved in a little North Pole-style preschool.  The first day (which I will remind you, was at our house) was marginal.  It is not my thing.

Mila has L.O.V.E.D. every week.  One week, as we were getting ready to leave, she became very insistent about grabbing 'some things'.  I told her she couldn't take any toys with her, and she then burst into tears (yup, just like that).  She was very certain that as Monkey the George (i.e. Curious George)  and Caillou go to school and took a backpack and lunch, she should as well.  Cue the heart-strings.

Every week I've asked her what she's learned, and she is just full of information.  'Mom, there is a big B and a little b.  Bunnies and 'manas (translate: bananas) start with b'.

She has been starting to show a little interest in writing, as well.  It's been just gibberish, but the letters are starting to take shape.  J.R. discovered her advancement one evening when he went into finish studying for a test.
It was then decided that it was time to write her name.  She has been very close, but a small e has just been a pickle.  So someone else taught her Big E.  The keystone!

Daddy now has a deal with her.  If/when she learns to (clearly) write her name by herself, they will go to the toy store and she can pick out any thing she wants.  She was highly motivate for, like, 15 minutes.
Then, after so much practice, she started to write in full sentences.  A miracle!

After an evening of much letter writing, she ended on drawing pictures of herself.

I was somewhere the other day, and I mentioned I had a baby.  Who is three and a half.  'Oh honey', was the response, 'that is not a baby at all'.

Where is my baby?
