You know, its probably pretty mean to tell you that I have really cool news in August, and then never mention it again. I meant to tell, but then I just kept forgetting.
Here's a reminder (click me!)
You are probably aware that J.R. is infamous for coming up with wild-brained ideas. I ignore most of them, and hope that by doing so they will go away. Some do, some don't. But when J.R. combines wild-brained ideas with other wild-brains, things happen.
Is it good? Is it bad? I don't have an answer yet.
But, here are the details.
J.R. and his buddy, Josh, have decided to start a business.
It is called Far North Fatbikes. Check out their website! It probably can be explained better there. If not, Joshy wrote a pretty good explanation on his blog. Unlike his partner, Josh is a fabulous blogger. Both in that he actually writes on it, and also because he has a lot to say. That may or may not be a good thing?
Here is a little video Joshy took of them spending a Saturday building.
Here is a trip they took to Nugget Creek over Labor Day weekend. I think it was supposed to be business related? It was kind of a big deal for J.R. After spending a bitter summer on the couch, J.R. was determined to do something before the official end of summer (of which his doctor insisted that he was not prepared for!). You should check out Colby's pics (from that page). He ain't too bad. I asked J.R. if they accomplished much, as Josh and Colby are both photographers, and J.R. is a videographer.
The weekend did not go according to plan, but I guarantee they will be talking about it for many lifetimes. I guess that's what you get when you run into a true sourdough. Here is J.R. 'trailer' for the experience. I'll tell you more of the experience later. Maybe!
Well, there you have it. Not a single picture, but I've set a new personal record for links to other pages!
