I got a wild hair that thought it might be 'wise' to teach Amelia to start cooking. It can't be too treacherous, right? Hot pan? Open flame? Hot liquid? She has done pretty well. She's still learning the art of 'slow stirring' to minimize splashing. She's been pretty excited to learn a new skill, though. I've even let her use my knives (previously known as no-no's). These lessons could really go either way. And when you ask, yes, she did ultimately burn herself during this session.
Remember Amelia's treat for being a great non-bed wetter? (reminder) She has done nothing but talk about 'that red stuff'. I gave in, especially since it's the end of summer and they won't be a long for long (right?). I thought we'd have time one day to grab one, and Amelia was just so excited. Then we didn't, and she was so, so bummed. So, the next day right before I was going to drop her off with Gramma (ha ha!) we went to get her a darn sno-cone. She kept insisting on apple (does that sound repugnant to anybody else?), but magically received tiger's blood. You should have seen her savor this thing. She was so careful with the cup (there may have been some threats).
Delectableness in a cup.
I just thought she was so darn cute, sittin' in the back as we traveled.
Notice that she was not concerned enough to take her eyes off the tv.
How excited was I to pull this sweater out for yet another year! Answer: SO! A great buddy of mine made this for 'me' right after I found out I was pregnant. I was so worried that I wouldn't get enough wear out of it. I still get so giddy over it. I would have probably been more giddy if Amelia hadn't spent the afternoon over at Gramma's, and then come home with more chicken soup in her hair and down the front of her then actually made it inside.
Still a great sweater, though.
This is a view I seem to be getting often. She was just trying to get off one (or maybe any of the four she had on) of her tutu's.
Rather than finding a perfectly good stick lying on the ground, she deemed it necessary to take one standing up.
She was ultimately unsuccessful.
Yay! I'm so happy her sweater still fits! I love your blog. It is amazing to see how fast she is growing up. She is so cute and full of personality. Pretty smart too! Ronnie (Buddy)
