Amelia watches too much TV. That is the only thing I can say to explain how she learns so much. She began to see stacks and stacks of pumpkins in the store, and declared she just had to have one. I kept telling her later. One evening, I had J.R. but no Amelia. I mentioned to J.R. that Amelia has been excited about one, and he immediately picked out very pretty one. We came home with it, and Amelia spotted it right off and was ecstatic! Until she realized that she had not been apart of picking one, and she was quite put out.
It sat on our table for a couple of days. She just kept talking about the yummy pumpkin pie it would make. Who is she making pumpkin pie with? How does she remember pumpkin pie? That is where the TV comes in.
We finally decided to give it a go.
The work got a little lop-sided. Daddy carved (fun), Mommy de-gutted (not fun), and Amelia observed (pretty bored).
Finally, Amelia got to help.
Amelia was still pretty excited about the results.
Mommy's job while 'they' were carving was trying a new recipe for pumpkin scones. Yum. Oh yes, yum. Mila helped out with a little 'painting' of spiced frosting. We're gonna try these out again! Yum.
Amelia declared the end result quite scary. She was very impressed with herself.
