Little kids and their toys.

We finally made it home!  Although vacations are fabulous, isn't it always lovely to be back in one's own bed?  It's odd, because I think that Amelia was rather distraught about being gone.  She kept asking every night how many more nights until we went home.  Once home, she continued on to express how excited to be home.

On our trip through Anchorage, J.R. had decided what he wanted for his birthday.  As you can see, he was rather giddy with himself.  A yellow, remote controlled plane.  He almost got a white one, then magically found yellow (his favorite) and it became his.  He could hardly contain himself.

Let us watch was he gives himself joy.

Then Amelia woke up, offering to help.  Yeah . . . .

Daddy finally declared it was time for some 'touch and go's'.  He wasn't going to fly it, of course, just test it.  Hello, Captain Denial!  Amelia became frantic and would not let Daddy out of the house until she'd grabbed her own little yellow plane (wonder where she got that from . . . , Daddy?).  Then all were ready for take-off!
The touch and go's did not end up well.  He tried to fly (remember Captain Denial?).  He had to get a couple of parts on order.  On the first day.  Mommy rolled her eyes.
Then it was time for Amelia's new toy.  Oh, was she giddy with herself!
She created rainbow spaghetti, that I now have permanently embedded in my carpet.  However, she was just beside herself with joy.
Despite his denial, this pixie is so her Daddy's child.  No two people get so excited over toys.  I guess it is life's simple pleasures, eh?
