Amelia and I went to help out with a multi-family garage sale. One of our friends was selling this little pull behind dog, you know - the kind that a 8 month old would love? She kept saying that she was taking it home, and I kept letting her think that. Turns out Amelia is smarter than Mommy, 'cause she'd brought her wallet with her. And became the proud new owner of this dang yipping thing for a quarter. It's now been a couple of weeks, and this thing is still getting played with on a daily basis. Do you think that Amelia is playing with it because she likes it, or just to prove a point to Mom? I have my opinions, of course. Its name is Marley, after her favorite movie - Marley and Me.
Really, I took these pictures 'cause she was getting a haircut later that day.
Turns out it was a 'Big Girl Day'. We rode our bikes over to our hairstylist (Amelia was so proud of her little self!). Then, she got to have her hair washed in the sink, instead of the wet hair spritz.
Then spent twenty minutes gazing at herself. It really is a good way to spend one's day.
While I have no photographic proof of it (I know! bad Mom!), Amelia has been learning to ride without her training wheels. After the ride to her haircut, she got very frustrated riding because her back tire gets high centered between her training wheels, and it just turns into a exercise bicycle. So we convinced her that she should try to be a big girl and take off the training wheels. She has actually done very, very well. Dad pushes her, and she can ride but is really unable to maintain enough momentum. She has learned how to slow down before she stops/crashes. And when she declares she's done, she's done. So Dad when tried to get her to go on one more lap, she ended up twisting her handlebars and they ended up creating this lovely 'rubber burn' down her side. She is very proud of it now, but had some things to say (mostly about Daddy) at the time.
Lame brain dog. I gave him a bath, of which he could hardly stand afterwards. So he was unable to properly dry off, and just laid down. Shivering, with puppy dog eyes. I covered him and this was how he spent the next couple of hours. Which begs the question, who is really the lame brain?
Hey Mom! What do you think of my telescope holder?
A general logic 'out there' is that one shouldn't have cats and infants. 'Cause the might sleep on the baby and suffocate them. This was completely odd, because Skadi never does this, and really doesn't like Amelia all that much. It does look cozy, though!
